Christine Atkins has been my personal fitness trainer since February 2020.
On researching her background at that time and then meeting her, I was reassured by Chris’s comprehensive experience in nursing and industry fitness training, and the recognition she has achieved via her many awards.
Chris invests a lot of time in keeping up to date in her skills and practice. She ensures that my fitness program has the right degree of challenge and is regularly refreshed with new exercises. She applies her anatomical knowledge to ensure that exercises are correctly undertaken to strengthen the body without stress. My program has been targeted to meet personal goals of weight management and preparation for sporting activity (golf), and Chris provides advice on nutrition and general health which complements the physical work.
I enjoy my workouts, and enjoy the challenge from Chris to get results and make continuous healthy progress from my weekly fitness program.
In my former career as CEO of Ampol and Caltex, and as Chairman of several large corporations such as CSR, Aristocrat and others, I have seen the value fitness plays in Health and Safety as well as general employee performance and life fulfilment. I think Chris Atkins is a wonderful contributor to those objectives.
It is with great pleasure that I provide this reference for Christine Atkins – Body and Mind 2000.
I was referred to Christine some 12 Months ago with a debilitating back complaint which caused major pain and affected my ability to carry regular day to day activities.
Following the programme prepared by Christine I am now in much better condition and have resumed all normal activities.
Christine provided and monitored a programme of stretches and Pilates style exercises which I am still using and find absolutely brilliant.
Christine has an extensive knowledge of exercise physiology and implementation and a full understanding of the dynamics of body movement. This enables Christine to prepare and implement targeted sessions which target problem areas as required. I found this appreciably better than most exercise, stretching or Pilates classes. A more focussed programme has led to better faster results, less pain and more flexibility.
Christine is a focused and committed individual with a sense of humour and the ability to connect on a personal level.
I find it easy and rewarding working with Christine and intend to continue into the future.

“My name is Ben and I am 25 years old. I am a qualified horticulturist and played rugby league back in school, with regular training.
Since then, I had done little exercise with no real training. I applied for the defence force as a rifleman, a lifelong dream of mine! I simply searched personal trainer in my local area (Cessnock and surrounds) from there my mother, sister and I met with Christine to talk about what level of fitness I needed to achieve.
I had 3 months to increase my fitness level and meet the army’s pre-entry requirements, which I did comfortably, without the support of Christine I wouldn’t have achieved this! Christine’s fitness plan includes cardio, strength and flexibility program tailored for me. An eating plan was put together. Sessions increased from 2 a week, to 4 a week, sometimes sessions lasting 2 hours, Chris was always flexible with her hours! She always gave me fresh ideas and new ways to exercise without having to use expensive gym equipment.
Christine was willing to go that extra mile, spending time with me to make sure I was stretching correctly; she always made sure I was comfortable, giving me the motivation I needed, at no extra expense!
Programs were balanced of upper and lower body, constantly changing routines so the workout doesn’t become repetitive, and workouts designs to suit my needs. Christine was always encouraging me to strive for my best and test my ability challenging me a step further each time.
Since starting with Christine, my attitude has changed; I am more conscience of self-well being and eating habits and has given me more self-confidence.
